Southern Regional Education Board Middle Grades Mathematics Series - These courses are designed for middle grade teachers without subject-area expertise who are assigned to teach mathematics.  They are offered through Darton College, West Virginia University and Old Dominion University.


SREB Middle Grades Math Courses at Darton

SREB Teacher Center provides information for the SREB Middle Grades Mathematics Series including course information along with eligibility and enrollment information. 

These courses were designed to meet all course objectives specified by the SREB.  Materials covered in these courses includes mathematic content, pedagogy, teaching tips, and classroom activities.  These are instructor-  led highly interactive courses capable  of satisfying multiple learning styles.  Multimedia components are used and all content is accessible to low bandwidth dial-up connections.  Darton instructors have been teaching middle grades mathematics and science courses online course since 2000.

Accessing Course Content

Each semester as a registered student you can access your course information by using the appropriate WebCT Log In link on any Darton web page. NOTE: Course content will not be accessible until the first day of classes. 

To assess your course you will need your (1)user name, (2) password. 

  • Darton College ID Look-up Form - Complete the look-up form and print the resulting report  for reference.  This will provide you your user name and password. 

DCid = User Name for WebCT Vista users

DCid Pin = Password for all users

Lastly, to access your course, you need to log in to the (3) learning environment that your course uses.    As of Spring 2007 all courses will be in WebCT Vista. 

  • SREB Probability and Statistics & SREB Geometry.

Log in to WebCT Vista by starting at the Darton Home Page.  From there you will cursor to WebCT on the Red Topic line at the top of the page, allowing a drop box to appear.  From the drop box you will click on "Log On to WebCT Vista".  On the next web page you will need to enter your User Name and Password.

Each semester as a registered student you will be able to access your course information by using any WebCT Vista link on the Darton web pages.  Be sure to remember that your SREB application will ONLY be processed when the term is Opened for either Pre-Registration or Registration.  Therefore, your WebCT Vista access WILL NOT BE ACCESSIBLE UNTIL THE FIRST DAY OF CLASSES.

Modifying Courses

Dropping all SREB courses - This is considered a withdrawal from Darton.  A SREB student wanting to drop all courses must fax a signed letter to the registrar's office explaining why they wish to drop.  The original signed letter must then be mailed to their office.  Registrar & Records Office / 2400 Gillionville Road / Albany, GA 31721 / Office 229-317-6742 / Fax 229-317-6606.

Dropping part of SREB courses - A SREB student wanting to drop only a portion of their courses will need to contact the course instructor by phone or email.  Refer to your course syllabus for the instructor's contact information otherwise contact the Math/Science Division Administrative Assistant for the instructor's contact information.  Math/Science Division Office 229-317-6559.    

Darton Online

 

Darton offers an online application and registration for online distance learning students. Currently enrolled, eligible students may use the BANNER Web Registration System.  However, student must contact their advisor to complete an advising release form before they can have access to the web registration system. Each student will be mailed a notice with their advisor's name, office phone number, e-mail address and location. You can also look up your advisor on the Student Directory at any time.
