Message from the Dean
A continued unwavering focus on quality online learning opportunities complimented by quality services for online learners is the objective of the Division of Online Learning. Student success in achieving educational goals is first and foremost in our efforts.
We expect our students to become a full partner in the learning process. Being actively engaged with other students and your course instructor is basic to success with online learning. Online teachers are experts in their field as well as being seasoned, experienced, proven online teachers.
The online college catalogue and student handbook are valuable resource tools for you as you pursue your education. For judicial, academic appeals, and other policies and processes outlining student rights and responsibility matters please consult the student handbook. Your online teacher is your first point of contact about your class. After initial communication with your teacher if unresolved concerns remain, you can contact the Online Learning Division dean’s office at 229-317-6769 or by emailing janice.hilyard@darton.edu
To be successful in online classes, you must be competent in computer skills, Microsoft Office, and self-disciplined to log into your class daily. Prior to enrolling in online classes you are encouraged to take the self-assessment to learn if you are a likely candidate for online learning success.

Janice Hilyard, Ed.D.
Dean, Division of Online Learning
